Sorry, Tim Allen. Chris Parnell is coming for your holiday gig.
After his Rick and Morty character, Jerry Smith, endured a Cronenbergian version of The Santa Clause during last night’s episode, Parnell revealed that he found the script “brilliant” from the first read. “I was just knocked out by it,” the SNL alum recalled in an exclusive interview with Cracked. “I loved that it was an episode dealing with Easter, a holiday that isn’t typically dealt with, and it touches on the religious aspect of it and the bunny aspect of it and makes sense of all that in its own, insane way.”
King of the Hill fans, however, are a lot less enthusiastic about the latest teaser for the show’s upcoming revival. Shortly after Hulu uploaded a Father’s Day-themed clip celebrating Hank Hill’s best pieces of “fatherly advice,” several fans felt that something was amiss about the show’s latest season. Or Hank would put it, that animation ain’t right. “The animation looks stiff and cheap,” wrote one fan, while another stated the show’s new clean aesthetic “looks like ass.”
Fortunately, these hilarious tweets are quite nice to look at, with the funniest including those about soup boards, emotional moments with the bus driver and millennial ghost stories.
